Brandon, Caressa, Callie and Tessa were able to enjoy viewing yesterday’s total eclipse through the Point O’Pines telescope. We drove up to the public beach in nearby Plattsburgh, NY, and were able to share the views with other kids and families at the park. What an experience! We wanted to share some of the photos with our camp community. Wow, amazing!
We want to once again say a heartfelt thanks for being a part of a wonderful summer at camp. It may have been the best summer yet, with continuing traditions complemented by fresh fun and energy. We are both looking forward to our exciting collaboration with Max Grossman and Nikki Zenkel. We are so happy to congratulate them on their upcoming wedding.
We have asked Nikki and Max to join us as fellow Directors of Point O’Pines Camp. Brandon, Caressa, Max and Nikki will be the Director team going forward, leading a great team of caring staff, and planning great fun surprises for our campers. We look forward to working closely with Nikki and Max for years to come. Jim and Sue will continue to assist us with their advice, ideas and care for the girls while they enjoy more free time in the summer.
We are working on amazing plans for Summer 2024 and cannot wait to announce what is coming! We are excited to see so many of you already enrolled, and encourage families to complete their enrollments so we can be prepared for Summer 2024.
Citizenship In this final week we recognize the rare camper who embodies all of the qualities we have highlighted throughout the summer. These are great all-around campers who show the ideals of what it is to make our community better by being a part of it.
You know that dream where you just don’t want to wake up? Today’s banquet celebrated “It Was All a Dream.” Thank you Peakers for leading a great event.
This was a truly terrific summer with fun from start to finish and a fantastic staff. What fun to look back at this dream we have had.
Tonight we recognized some of the individual campers who’s contribution to camp was particularly outstanding. We are so impressed with our campers and staff at Point O’Pines!

We also took this opportunity to recognize outstanding staff, including two recipients of the Sherie Alden and Erin Shoulberg Award for Outstanding Leadership. This award will be accompanied by a scholarship grant from the Himoff Family and was created to celebrate staff members who exemplify caring, fun, organizational skill, and leadership. Honoring those staff members who have demonstrated these extraordinary qualities celebrates and honors what Erin and Sherie brought to their life at Point O’Pines Camp.

Today brings a summer of Team Competition to a close. We began with our Hunger Games Breakout and sang our hearts out last night at Team Sing. Thank you to the Captains and Lieutenants who lead their teams with dedication. The Blue and White teams showed great sportsmanship!
This summer the winner in Team Competition is…White!
