News From The Point

Today is a great day for us all to reflect and give thanks.  Our Point O’Pines family has so much to be thankful for this year.  We thank all our friends, including campers, staff, parents, alumnae and our Adirondack community.  Thank you to our friends at the YMCA Adirondack Center and Brant Lake Camp for Boys for all you do for kids.  Thank you to all the schools that work with us to enrich the lives of our campers.  Thank you to everyone spending the day making this holiday time special for all of us and our families.

Summer 2019 was really a truly epic experience for all of us, and now that campers are back at school and are anticipating a great camp reunion, we wanted to tease you with a taste of Frankie and Lauren’s video of our summer.  Enjoy!

Camp is empty and quiet.  For the summer, we have lived together with every moment filled with excitement in every corner of camp.  Now, we send off these lasting friendships to reunite with family at their homes, while we wait to get these great friends back together soon.

This was a summer to remember, with a group of wonderful Peakers who thoughtfully considered the hopes and loves of their fellow campers.  These Peakers who last night as the embers burned of “POP2019” voiced their hope that the Seniors would do a terrific job next summer.  Bravo, Peakers!  You really were ideal campers who have matured into such admirable young women.  How much you have learned over your years.

This summer would also not have been possible for all the campers if it were not for a fantastic staff who were so dedicated and hard working. Thank you to counselors, activity staff, area heads and our support staff for making Point O’Pines feel like home every summer.

We miss you already.  Don’t stay away too long!  We love you, Point!

The Peakers hosted a great banquet tonight, bravely themed “The Show Must Go On” based around Broadway and the theatre.  What a great theme! Thank you Peakers for again showing your leadership to camp. You are a hard act to follow.
