Round Tables at the Point

Friends around a round table.

At Point O’Pines we have all round dining room tables. Of course, we want our girls to have equal access to our family style food platters on the tables, but more importantly we do not want anyone to be left out of the meal time conversation. We like having no ends so everyone is in the “middle.”

My Daughter is a Picky Eater and Likes Unusual Things

Our nutritious camp menus are posted daily so that we can share with you the menu available to your daughter. The menu covers our main courses served family style to each table. This being said we have options for the more discerning eaters. At every meal we have a buffet we call the “Salad Bar.” Some campers choose most of their meal here, and many of our older girls regularly create their own favorites such as a chicken Caesar salad. We always have grilled chicken breast, tuna and chicken salad, a wide variety of fresh vegetables, including both local and organic produce from our own farm.

At the salad bar, there are also entree options, high protein dishes for vegetarians and enticing ready-made salads prepared by our chefs. We also pride ourselves on gluten-free options, dairy free options and other choices prepared by a chef dedicated to special diets. Our pasta is very inviting with both whole grain and semolina pasta, all imported from Italy. Some enjoy our grilled fresh garden vegetables with a little drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, or served on a fresh baguette with hummus. That’s what we call delicious and healthy.

Stay Fit for Life

In Fitness we Stay Fir for Life

Each camper participates in a Point O’Pines program called “Stay Fit for Life.” The program is adapted to each age level and teaches things from the development of good exercise habits to making the Healthy Choice at meals. Portion control and exposure to delicious veggies and salads is an important part of this program. It incorporates so many parts of camp into a cross departmental plan. Exercise, sports, our now famous 5K run and farm to table experiences are all coupled together. Campers hopefully take away from camp experience that lasts a life time and will contribute to a positive interaction with their environment.
