News From The Point

On this warm, clear day we celebrated the birthday of the United States. For our special dinner celebration, the dining room was decorated and filled with balloons in the red, white and blue of the day. The Peakers sang the Star-Spangled Banner at dinner tonight causing all to rise to their feet and join in. After dinner we started our traditional dance party with the Brant Lake Camp boys. We wish everyone a very happy Independence Day.

We have been invaded by aliens.  Breakout for Team Competition has begun.  More news to come…

… As is prone to happen with aliens in these parts, there were amazing dance numbers and music as they arrived.  They landed on the dining room steps and danced onto the beach.  The groups sped off to their team meetings and cheered for victory together as teams for the first time.  This much team spirit already, wow!

Tonight was Aunt Emma’s Auction for the younger campers, and for the older girls it was the first social event with Brant Lake Camp.  Be sure to check out the crazy attire in tonight’s photos.  They bring and wear what they can so they can win for their bunkmates.  While it did rain for the end of the evening activities, we saw a spectacular orange sunset over the mountains across the lake.

Last night we all enjoyed our first campfire.  Our blue and white team captains and lieutenants lit the torches of spirit, friendship, loyalty and beauty.  We also made wishes on wish sticks that we placed in the fire to join the ashes we save of the wishes of summers before.  They also joined wishes shared in by our alumnae who want campers to enjoy every moment and each other.  We sang songs and enjoyed a breathtaking sunset over the mountains.
