Brandon, Caressa, Callie and Tessa were able to enjoy viewing yesterday’s total eclipse through the Point O’Pines telescope. We drove up to the public beach in nearby Plattsburgh, NY, and were able to share the views with other kids and families at the park. What an experience! We wanted to share some of the photos with our camp community. Wow, amazing!

Mike, Friends We Will Always Be
Camp is a place of deep friendships that flourish for years and years. The Point lost a dear friend, Mike Wernow, who worked with parents and staff as “Mike the Money Man” for over 30 years. Mike retired from a 35 year career teaching children math in Long Beach, NY, and retired just a few years ago from our POP office. Mike was well know at camp for his jokes and whit, and was always a good friend to our community. He passed away this last Pi Day, and we miss him along with his family, adopted family and friends. Our hearts go out to our community, and we treasure the great times we shared together.
Sledding into Summer!
This weekend we welcomed the Peak of 2024 to camp! The excitement for 2024 began with a beautiful day on Brant Lake. The girls also worked on their plans to inspire younger campers, and even shared ideas for a Breakout to remember. Summer is straight ahead and they are sledding right toward it!
Photos of the weekend retreat are posted in an album when you log in on our website.
Together with Our Camp Family
Reunion is a great reminder of all of the wonderful connections and bonds made year after year at our summer home. We were excited to see so many of our campers and staff together for our reunion this weekend. It was heartwarming to see how quickly the outside world melted away and smiles filled the room, just as it does when our campers step off the bus on day one at camp.
During reunion, we played some camp games, watched the Summer 2023 video, which transported us back to our most cherished camp moments, signed our 2023 yearbooks that are full of fun memories, and added in a sneak peek of new activities and fun in store for the 2024 camp season.
We want to thank the outstanding Peak of 2023 for pouring your energy into helping create a memorable summer experience. We already miss all of you.
As we approach Thanksgiving, our hearts are filled with gratitude for our campers, dedicated staff, alumnae, parents, families, and our supportive Adirondack community who make Point O’Pines the magical place it is. We have so much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving season. It was one of our most wonderful years at camp yet. We cherish the memories, the friendships, and the traditions that make our camp community unique. Wishing you all a happy and healthy Thanksgiving!

Great News to Share!
We want to once again say a heartfelt thanks for being a part of a wonderful summer at camp. It may have been the best summer yet, with continuing traditions complemented by fresh fun and energy. We are both looking forward to our exciting collaboration with Max Grossman and Nikki Zenkel. We are so happy to congratulate them on their upcoming wedding.
We have asked Nikki and Max to join us as fellow Directors of Point O’Pines Camp. Brandon, Caressa, Max and Nikki will be the Director team going forward, leading a great team of caring staff, and planning great fun surprises for our campers. We look forward to working closely with Nikki and Max for years to come. Jim and Sue will continue to assist us with their advice, ideas and care for the girls while they enjoy more free time in the summer.
We are working on amazing plans for Summer 2024 and cannot wait to announce what is coming! We are excited to see so many of you already enrolled, and encourage families to complete their enrollments so we can be prepared for Summer 2024.
All the Best,
Brandon & Caressa
