We write into the history books a terrific year of Team Competition from the Breakout of the Lab to the night of beautiful songs we experienced last night at Team Sing back in the Boat House. The Team Leaders and other Peakers inspired the camp with their leadership. Thank you and your teams for creating a great experience this summer. This summer the winner in Team Competition is…White!
Courage This award is given to a camper who has the courage to do what is right, even when what is right does not match with what is popular. Her bravery is represented in social situations and at activity areas, where she has worked hard to try something new or outside of her comfort zone. She is fearless when it comes to reaching her goals and making camp a better place for all.
Authenticity This award is given to a camper who is able to be her true, whole self in all contexts around camp. She is honest and sincere. No matter the situation, she keeps her personal values in mind and behaves in ways consistent with those values. She respects other campers’ authenticity as well, and doesn’t try to change others into people they are not. This camper appreciates diverse perspectives, but stands up for what she believes is right.
What an amazing visiting day! It was a huge victory for the campers who loved every moment and have treasured this return to normal life after the challenges of recent years. The weather could not have been better and we can’t thank parents enough for all their efforts to make this very special visit happen.
A News Report from the Point from Peaker Jesse:
This weekend we had smiling faces, big hugs, and lots of treats back again. We started off Friday with lower camp visiting day. Campers were reunited with their family members on a beautiful day. Campers showed off all their activities and achievements they have been working on this summer. Families sat out on the Main Lawn to enjoy the delicious buffet and cook-out. At the end of the day everyone enjoyed a cool-down waterfight at the beach. On Saturday lower camp girls headed to the farm for a day of fun activities. The rest of camp hung out with their families and indulged in the excitement of the day. Senior House put on their show “A Chorus Line” for their family members. We ended the day with another waterfight on the beach.
Positive Attitude This award is given to a camper whose energy lifts up those around her. She embodies the idea that positive attitude doesn’t mean always being in a good mood, but knowing that even if a bad mood comes, keeping a positive perspective can lead to growth and bonding. This camper approaches challenges with excitement and her sunny outlook on life shines throughout camp.
