Guest Travelogue, images and story by Emily Weber:
Junior B Bunks 13 and 14 boarded the bus in the afternoon and headed for the Point O’Pines Farm, nestled in the Adirondack Mountains off Brant Lake. After the six minute drive to the farm the 15 girls took their bags and set up camp for the night in two lean-tos.
For dinner the eight counselors on the trip whipped up some delicious steamed vegetables, chicken and cheese pizza and salad. While dinner was cooking, we took a trip to the sand hill where the girls ran and played on the sand. Upon our return to the camp site the WAD staff had prepared a beautiful campfire! As the last preparations for dinner were happening campers sat around the campfire singing songs, telling stories and laughing…a lot.
After dinner the girls gathered around for s’mores and steaming hot cocoa accompanied by some more singing around the fire. Then it was off to bed for the Junior Bs.
We all awoke at 7:15 am this morning to pack everything back up and be back in time for camp breakfast. In all, it was a great overnight filled with singing, games, laughter and s’mores. It was a great way for the girls to bond as bunks.
In addition, to these pictures there is a whole album of the trip available under “Photos” by logging in on the website.
