The ice cream served on our dining is primarily Colombo Non-Fat frozen yogurt. It has zero fat but still has sugar. We think it is healthier than traditional ice cream and just as delicious. We know that the campers agree. Traditional ice cream is far less frequent, but we do serve it occasionally and you may see it on our menu as an evening snack with a choice for fresh fruit or part of a special celebration. We serve plain Greek yogurt at breakfast and fruit flavored yogurt at lunch. We know the girls enjoy the fruit flavors the most but they have higher sugar. We like to see them enjoy the Greek as the “Healthy Choice” option.
Our fitness program team teaches our campers about what we call the “Healthy Choice” as part of our “Stay Fit for Life” program. We teach our girls about portion control, and we often point out the items on our buffet that provide the most nutrition. We teach them how to make the “Healthy Choice”.
