Campers of the Week – Friendliness 2017

Our Peakers had camp in a “state of emergency” for Breakout 2017.
During rest hour all of camp heard the sirens blare: Breakout had begun. Racing to the Rec Hall, campers found an empty stretcher on the stage, as an ambulance entered camp and lead the campers in parade to main lawn. The Team Captains and Lieutenants climbed out of the ambulance and were joined by the rest of the Peakers. We followed their march from the Main Lawn to the Waterfront.
The Peakers danced for us, then split campers into the Blue and White teams. Team meetings followed and introduced all team members. Campers learned team cheers which rang out throughout camp. An auspicious start to a great summer of team competition.

Friends together again! Yesterday was an emotional return to one of our favorite places. We made many new friends, and were so glad to see old friends too. We enjoyed a delicious first dinner together, and then heard performances in the Rec Hall by each activity at camp. After a little snack, everyone was tucked into their bunks, and woke up rejuvenated and ready to have fun this morning. There is so much more to come. Stay tuned!

Our orientation is just finishing up at Point O’Pines after up to three of four weeks of staff training. We had a color team competition between counselor teams leading to a Green team victory. Congratulations, Green! We posted a few fun photos for you if you log in on our website. Counselors are filled to the brim with excitement, and we are ready to share a fantastic summer with you. Camp is less than two days away, Wow! See you Saturday!

The Peak of 2017 have been having a snowy blast up here at camp, including some great sledding and a walk down the frozen lake. They even sang a Point O’Pines Happy Birthday to Callie. While the girls were here, they worked on their secret plans for an amazing 2017 summer. You will love their ideas! Camp is just 146 days away, and we just can’t wait.
Photos of the weekend retreat are posted in an album when you log in on our website.
