Nikki and Max Grossman
Owners/Directors
For Nikki and Max Grossman, camp isn’t just a summer experience – it’s a lifelong passion and a shared dream. Together, they have devoted their careers to nurturing the growth of children and staff within the sleepaway camp tradition, and they bring that same dedication to every aspect of life at Point O’Pines.
Nikki grew up at an all-girls camp and later worked as a Counselor and Division Head at a co-ed camp. After earning her degree from Vanderbilt’s Peabody College of Education and working in the corporate world, her love for camp drew her back into volunteer work and ultimately a full-time career in camping.
Max began his camp journey at age seven and has spent every summer since in the camp world. A Towson University Psychology graduate with a focus on Child Development, he’s held numerous leadership and operational roles at both day and sleepaway camps.
Nikki and Max met at the Tri-State Camp Conference and have been a team ever since. Nikki’s connection to Point O’Pines runs deep – her mother is a proud alumna from the Peak of 1974. Nikki and Max began their journey at Point O’Pines in October of 2022, starting as Assistant Directors and then working for three summers as Directors before purchasing the camp in September 2026 from the Himoff family.
Now leading Point O’Pines together, Nikki and Max are dedicated to preserving its cherished traditions, values, and community spirit, while bringing fresh ideas, energy and fun. Together, they visit every new camp family in person before the season starts, welcoming them into the POP family. Whether reading bedtime stories, cheering on the waterski dock or getting into costume for themed dinners, Nikki and Max are hands-on leaders who care deeply about creating a joyful, inclusive, and meaningful summer for every girl who calls the Point home.
In the off-season, Nikki and Max live in Rye, New York, with their golden retriever, Addie (named after the Adirondack Mountains) and remain active in the camp community through SCOPE and the American Camp Association. They look forward to welcoming a baby girl in January 2027, who will one day be a Point O’Pines camper.
