We
eagerly anticipate the start of each summer and the return of our summer
family. Every summer brings new growth and confidence from each camper,
as well as exciting events and many fun moments together. Everything about
Point O'Pines embodies timeless quality and unique attention to detail.
We have assembled a team of caring and responsible staff, and every program
has attentive expert instructors and the most modern equipment. Lasting
traditions have continued through our more than twenty years at camp, with
many dating back to 1957 when Hoby and Norma Rosen founded the camp.
Campers have fun and enjoy every moment of Camp, while each grows in leadership,
self-esteem and confidence. Point O'Pines rewards campers for their
good attitude and desire to participate, and regards achievement as more
important than excellence. We help campers recognize aspects of their character
in which to take pride, increasing the camper's self-esteem, and encourage
all campers and staff to respect each other's importance to our camp
community. Each week we recognize a camper in each age group who best exemplifies
characteristics of good citizenship such as honesty, friendliness, generosity
or camp spirit. Campers are encouraged to value these attributes and are
always excited to cheer on their award-winning peers.
Above all, Point O'Pines is a warm and nurturing place to spend one's
summers and provides girls with a strong foundation upon which to build
their future. |

The Himoffs have owned the camp since 1984.
Jim grew up in the New York area and attended Point O'Pines'
brother camp, Brant Lake Camp, as a boy. Prior to purchasing Point O'Pines,
Jim was involved with international finance for 20 years. Sue grew up in
Oregon, came from a large family and studied nursing and art before moving
to New York. Sue and Jim Himoff are the parents of two sons, Brandon and
Adam, who also attended Brant Lake Camp. Brandon spent almost 10 years in
technology finance, before returning to Brant Lake. Adam is a movie producer
and screenwriter in Los Angeles. |

Jim operates the business, manages
the food service and loves to spend time talking with campers about their
summer. He brings fresh ideas for camp activities and is also highly regarded

Sue assures that Point O’Pines Camp
fulfills and exceeds every family’s expectations for their daughter’s
summer experience. She develops close relationships
with campers and camp families, getting to know each new family before their
first summer. Sue watches out for campers' emotional and physical well being
through close communication with campers and their families, as well as with
our Area Heads, Specialty Heads and Medical Staff. Sue keeps in contact with
campers' parents throughout the camp season.
